Back in the year 1930,

There lived an old man named, Bertie,

Who walked up a hill,

And thought it was brill,

But then he fell down and was dirty.

Well done, Sam!

The winner of the recount competition this week is…..

I opened my eyes, everything was different, it looked like my bedroom. Those toys looked like my toys on the floor, but everything didn’t feel right. I glanced over quickly at the calendar. Something caught my eye….the date…it said…..January 2030!!!

”What is going on?” I asked myself. I jumped to my feet and quickly pulled on some clothes. I ran down the stairs and straight out the front door. I had to find out if it really was 2030. When I got outside, I discovered the cars were floating way above my head and not on the road. I ran to my favourite shop only to find a robot behind the counter and not the friendly Mrs Jones. I ran over to the bakery, but it was closed.

I bumped into a man, by then I was desperate to see if it actually was 2030. I cleared my throat. ”Ey, excuse me, what year is it again?”. 2030, why do you ask?”. ”Uh oh” I thought.

The Winter Hedgehog

Hello there, my name is Ms Hedgehog. I am going to tell you a funny and frightening story that happened to my son, Harry Hedgehog.

All the hedgehogs had gathered in a wood, to put together all the leaves, moss and the last straggling bits of dandelion fluff. While us mums were talking about how we were going to keep all the little hedgehogs away from Winter and Heather Greenwood was explaining how to make a really cosy kid next, and that Lily, her daughter never wanted to get out of her nest. Then I picked up my cars so that I could still listen, then I looked around, then I turned around and gazed at my son, he was walking around in circles. Every 5-10 seconds, his prickles pricked UP!

I will continue this tomorrow,

We don’t just sleep in the Winter you know!

Second and third place will be announced tomorrow.

I am so proud of your work, I can’t wait to hear them in the Author’s Chair tomorrow 🙂

Viking Art

Today, we started a really exciting topic. We learned all about The Vikings and where they came from.

Can anyone remember where that was?

In Art, we were working in groups. One group designed Viking warriors, which were super. Another group designed an ocean scene. The other groups drew a longboat and designed oars for the longboat. I can’t wait to see it when it’s finished 🙂
