Last Thursday, third class were planting in the school garden with Eithne O’Dea. We really enjoyed learning all about different types of trees. We also talked about plants, animals and biodiversity. Rory and some of the other green committee members gave a super definition of what biodiversity means.
It was so interesting to discover that the trees we planted last Thursday, will still be growing when third class are in secondary school and even when third class are grandparents.
Third class really enjoyed digging, planting and watering the trees. Oliver and the Green Committee (Zara, Hayleigh, Oz and Rory) helped Eithne to clear up all the trowels, spades and materials, which was a very kind thing to do.
Eithne made it so interesting for us to learn about planting trees and we learned so much. A huge thank you to Mrs McDowell for organising this and to Eithne, it was fantastic. What a super day!
I planted a Native Privet!!!!
